LOS ANGELES, Nov. 23 (UPI) -- "American Idol's" Ryan Seacrest has been named as host of the 2004 Billboard Music Awards, the Fox Network said Tuesday.
The network also announced Gwen Stefani has joined the lineup of performers for the live telecast from the MGM Grand Garden Arena on Dec. 8. Stefani joins a list of previously announced performers that included Usher, Nelly and Green Day.

Paris Hilton, Nicole Richie, Tara Reid, Kelly Osbourne, Gretchen Wilson and Macy Gray are scheduled to appear on the show -- along with Nick Lachey, Alicia Keys, Fantasia, Ashlee Simpson, Duran Duran and Chingy.
Stevie Wonder will receive the Century Award, Billboard magazine's highest honor.
