NBC unveils fall lineup

NEW YORK, May 17 (UPI) -- NBC's fall lineup will include a "Friends" spinoff, a drama starring Heather Locklear and an animated series about lions, network executives said.

Jeff Zucker, president of NBC Univeral Television Group, unveiled the network's fall season programming Monday, Newsday.com reported, a lineup highly-anticipated by viewers and advertisers because of the recent departure of the top-rated comedies "Friends" and "Frasier."

"Joey," the "Friends" spinoff starring Matt LeBlanc, will launch in the coveted 8 p.m. Thursday time slot, anchoring a night of programming that includes "Will & Grace," "The Apprentice 2" and "E.R."

The animated "Father of the Pride," about the lions who performed at Siegfried and Roy's Las Vegas show, will air at 9 p.m. Tuesdays, filling the slot vacated by the long-running "Frasier."

Heather Locklear will star as an airport executive, along with Blair Underwood, in a drama titled "LAX" at 10 p.m. Mondays.

Another new drama, "Hawaii," an update of "Hawaii 5-0" from the 1970s, is scheduled for 8 p.m. Wednesdays.
