June 10 (UPI) -- Israeli forces killed two members of the Palestinian Authority's military intelligence and a third person during a raid Wednesday night in the West Bank city of Jenin.

The intelligence officers were identified as Adham Yasser Eleiwi and Tayseer Ayasa. A third Palestinian officer, Muhammad Samer Al-Bazour, was seriously wounded in the incident, according to the Jerusalem Post.

Israeli authorities said security forces were attempting to arrest Jamil al-Amouri and Wissam Abu Zaid, who they accused to be members of the terrorist group Palestinian Islamic Jihad. Al-Amouri, who was described by Palestinian media Wafa News, as a "freed prisoner from Israeli jails," died from injuries in the gunfight with Israeli forces.

Palestinian officials said Israeli forces were dressed in civilian clothing, attempted to arrest al-Amouri outside of Palestinian Military Intelligence Unit headquarters in Jenin. They said northern West Bank workers will take part in a strike Thursday to protest the shooting.

Nabil Abu Rudeineh, the spokesman for Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, said the shooting violated international law and could renew tensions between Palestinians and Israel.
