Sediq Sediqi, a spokesman for the Afghan interior ministry, said a suicide bomber had targeted NATO-led coalition forces near the area.

Taliban spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid said his group was responsible for the attack, which he said caused heavy casualties to foreigners in the Green Village.

Afghan officials did not report any casualties to foreigners in that part of Kabul.
