COPENHAGEN, Denmark, Jan. 29 (UPI) -- A Danish exhibition on murdered women whose families were not consulted has been shut down, administrators at Copenhagen's Police Museum said.
The exhibit, set up as a memorial to 12 homicide victims, drew criticism from politicians as well as family members, The Copenhagen Post reported Tuesday.

"The discussion surrounding the exhibition has overshadowed the exhibition itself," a statement issued by the museum said.
The statement included an apology to the families of the 12 women.
"It was a huge mistake that the next of kin were not notified and invited to participate from the beginning," said Birgitte Skallgard, an artist who painted portraits of the victims.
