Palestinians call for end to Oslo Accords

RAMALLAH, Gaza, Sept. 13 (UPI) -- Palestinian activists are calling for demonstrations Friday to press their demands for an end to the Oslo Accords and other agreements with Israel.

The possible new round of demonstrations come as protests against the high cost of living were suspended until Sunday by public transportation workers, The Jerusalem Post reported.

Leadership of the Palestinian Authority was reportedly worried the continued protests would result in anarchy that would "benefit the Palestinians' enemies," the activists said.

Many youth groups are calling for continued demonstrations against Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Salam Fayyad.

The Coordinating Committees of the Palestinian Revolution Against Corruption and Dependency issued a statement Wednesday calling for "National Dignity" demonstrations Friday.

The group also called for the end to the Paris Accords, which set up guidelines for trade between Israel and the PA.

Fayyad recently repeated his call for the West to provide more financial aid to Palestinians.
