2 hands found, search for body goes on

TORONTO, Aug. 18 (UPI) -- Body parts found in a park near Toronto appear to have been dumped in the Credit River recently, police said Friday.

Two hands were discovered Friday in Hewick Meadows Park in Mississauga, the Toronto Sun reported. Two hikers discovered a right foot Wednesday, setting off a search that turned up a woman's head Thursday.

Police were still trying to identify the victim Friday. Investigators said clothing was found in the area but they were unsure if it came from the dead woman.

"It's isolated around here," resident Peter Fletcher told the newspaper. "There are usually only hikers and fishermen who go through the park. It's not well-lit."
