WASHINGTON, Feb. 16 (UPI) -- Honoring past U.S. presidents on Monday's Presidents Day is easy with a song that sets out the order in which they served, The Washington Post reported.

"The American Presidents" song was created by Genevieve Ryan, a 19-year-old student at Princeton University, when she was 12 or 13 after being asked by her father to memorize the order of the presidents, the newspaper said.

After coming up with the rhymes, former National Symphony Orchestra conductor Leonard Slatkin reportedly helped Ryan put her lyrics to music.

The Post said the song starts with the lyrics, "America's president number one, founding father Washington; John Adams, second president, the very first White House resident." It ends: "George W. Bush, number forty-three, strengthened homeland security; First to be elected of African descent, Obama our forty-fourth president."

Meanwhile, Marvel Comics superheroes Captain America and Spider-Man commemorated Presidents Day by witnessing Abraham Lincoln deliver the Gettysburg Address in a new, six-page adventure released online Monday, The New York Times reported.
