WORCESTER, England, Jan. 9 (UPI) -- A Post Office worker in the British county of Worcestershire was killed Friday when his village shop was raided by three armed men, an area resident said.
David Green said the unidentified robbers shot and killed Craig Hodson-Walker, while wounding the postal worker's father, Ken, The Times of London reported.
"Everybody knows everybody here," Green said of the Hodson-Walker family. "They are a lovely family, just lovely people really. We always have a little chat."
Meanwhile, West Mercia Police would only confirm that two men were thought to have been shot during the morning theft and that one of those victims died of his wounds.
An unidentified spokeswoman said the three armed men being sought in relation to the theft and homicide were wearing balaclavas, which are like ski masks.
The Daily Telegraph said police believe the men were armed with a handgun and a sledgehammer. A manhunt is underway to find the three suspects.
