Mellon innocent in divorce spy case

LONDON, June 27 (UPI) -- U.S. banking heir Matthew Mellon was acquitted in London Wednesday of spying on his wife during their divorce proceedings.

The Times of London said Mellon, 43, was accused of hiring a detective agency to snoop around his estranged wife, Tamara, and also planted a Trojan virus on her computer to monitor her e-mail.

He told the newspaper afterward he was happy the whole thing was over.
