China, Japan agree on talks

BEIJING, Feb. 27 (UPI) -- Chinese and Japanese diplomats met Saturday to discuss a visit to China by the Japanese foreign minister, Nobutaka Machimura.

Kyodo News Service reports that Kenichiro Sasae, head of Japan's Asian and Oceanic Affairs Bureau, and Cui Tiankai, head of China's Asian Affairs Department, discussed the need for more dialogue at a meeting in Beijing. Sasae flew to China from a meeting in Seoul with South Korean and U.S. delegates to the stalled six-party talks on North Korea's nuclear program.
