NBA: New York 89, Detroit 85

NEW YORK, Jan. 7 (UPI) -- Carmelo Anthony pumped in 34 points and Andrea Bargnani supplied a double-double Tuesday, igniting the New York Knicks over reeling Detroit 89-85.

Bargnani scored 13 points and grabbed 11 rebounds as the Knicks continued their home dominance of the Pistons with a eighth straight win over Detroit at Madison Square Garden.

Raymond Felton added 12 points for New York.

Josh Smith put in 21 and corralled 12 rebounds for the Pistons, who dropped a fifth straight overall.

Andre Drummond supplied 12 and 17 and Greg Monroe helped out with 19 and seven.
