MLB: New York Mets 5, Arizona 1

PHOENIX, July 29 (UPI) -- R.A. Dickey surrendered only one unearned run through seven innings Sunday, pacing the New York Mets to a 5-1 victory over Arizona.

Dickey (14-2) joined Tampa Bay's David Price as the major leagues' only 14-game winners, shutting down the Diamondbacks on four hits. The knuckleballer struck out eight and worked around three walks.

Scott Hairston provided a pair of runs-scoring hits, while Daniel Murphy added an RBI double in the sixth as New York earned a split in its four-game series.

Diamondbacks starter Joe Saunders (5-7) was touched for four runs on eight hits through seven full innings.

Paul Goldschmidt supplied Arizona's only RBI.
