Nadal, Federer, Djokovic win at Wimbledon

LONDON, June 25 (UPI) -- Defending champion Rafael Nadal, No. 2 seed Novak Djokovic and third-seeded Roger Federer all advanced to the fourth round at Wimbledon Saturday.

Nadal won a grueling 7-6 (8-6), 7-6 (7-5), 6-0 match against Gilles Muller that started Friday but was suspended by rain after the first set.

Nadal, who has won 17 consecutive matches at the All England Club, will take on 24th-seeded Juan Martin del Potro of Argentina in the Round of 16. Del Potro advanced with a win over Gilles Simon of France.

High-flying Djokovic, meanwhile, posted a tough 6-4, 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 victory over 32nd-seeded Cypriot Marcos Baghdatis, raising his 2011 record to an astounding 44-1.

Baghdatis, who reached the Wimbledon semifinals in 2006, made the Serbian star work, battling him for 3 hours, 15 minutes.

It was a frustrating match for Djokovic, who at one point smashed his racquet on the court. But he broke Baghdatis three times to only one break for the Cypriot.

Djokovic will now go on to battle left-handed Frenchman Michael Llodra Monday.

In Federer's match, the Swiss superstar breezed past 28th-seeded Argentine David Nalbandian 6-4, 6-2, 6-4, marking the 29th straight time he has reached the fourth round of a major tournament.

And, in a major upset, 18-year-old Australian qualifier Bernard Tomic bounced an ailing No. 5 seed Robin Soderling in straight sets, 6-1, 6-4, 7-5.

Tomic, who pounded 13 aces and held serve throughout, advanced to face Belgian veteran Xavier Malisse.
