MLB: Kansas City 5, Chicago Sox 4 (10 inn)

, Ill., May 12 (UPI) -- Jermaine Dye singled home the winning run in the 10th inning Saturday as the Chicago White Sox squeezed past the Kansas City Royals 5-4.

Chicago, behind 4-3, tied the game in the ninth. Joakim Soria replaced Zack Greinke on the mound. After two outs, Darin Erstad singled and scored on a Juan Uribe double.

With one out in the 10th, Mike MacDougal (1-0) came on in relief and walked Emil Brown, who stole second and then took third on a wild pitch. But MacGougal induced Billy Butler to ground out and struck out Alex Gordon looking to end the threat.

In the bottom of the 10th, Brandon Duckworth (0-3) walked Paul Konerko, who was replaced on the base paths by Luis Terrero. Terrero took second on a wild pitch and then scored on Dye's single.

Uribe and Ryan Sweeney homered for the White Sox, who won their fourth straight.

John Buck homered for the Royals, who have seven losses in their last eight games.
