BALTIMORE, Aug. 20 (UPI) -- Roy Halladay became the major league-leader in wins Sunday afternoon as Toronto trounced Baltimore, 9-2.
In seven innings, Halladay (16-3) -- the 2002 American League Cy Young winner -- surrendered only two runs and four hits with one walk and two strikeouts.
He retired the first 16 batters faced and had a perfect game through 5 1/3 innings.
Troy Glaus, Bengie Molina and Reed Johnson all hit two-run homers. Glaus had two runs and three hits, Lyle Overbay had two runs and three hits, and Alex Rios knocked in a run for the Blue Jays (66-58), who have split their last six games.
Miguel Tejada hit a solo home run, while Nick Markakis drove in the other run for the Orioles (55-69), who had a four-game winning streak snapped.
Losing pitcher Erik Bedard (12-9) gave up seven runs and seven hits in five innings.
