Cinema's brightest stars are flocking to the 2015 Cannes Film Festival

CANNES, France, May 17 (UPI) -- Artists are flocking from around the world to promote their work or glimpse the offerings of their peers at France's Cannes Film Festival.

The event kicked off Wednesday and will continue through May 24. The festival includes screenings -- in and out of competition -- as well as galas and panel discussions.

Already spotted on the Cannes red carpet have been Cate Blanchett, Sienna Miller, Lupita Nyong'o, Salma Hayek, Jane Fonda, Jake Gyllenhaal, Benicio Del Toro, Matthew McConaughey, Naomi Watts, Rooney Mara, Natalie Portman, Eva Longoria and hundreds of others.
