'Wolf of Wall Street,' 'Captain Phillips' earn Golden Globe nods

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., Dec. 12 (UPI) -- "12 Years a Slave," "Captain Phillips," "Gravity," "Philomena" and "Rush" were nominated for the Best Drama Film Golden Globe in Los Angeles Thursday.

In the running for Best Musical or Comedy are "American Hustle," "Her," "Inside Llewyn Davis," "Nebraska" and "Wolf of Wall Street."

Shortlisted for Best Actor in a Drama are Chiwetel Ejiofor for "12 Years a Slave," Idris Elba for "Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom," Tom Hanks for "Captain Phillips," Matthew McConaughey for "Dallas Buyers Club" and Robert Redford for "All is Lost."

The nominees for Best Actress in a Drama are Cate Blanchett for "Blue Jasmine," Sandra Bullock for "Gravity," Judi Dench for "Philomena," Emma Thompson for "Saving Mr. Banks" and Kate Winslet for "Labor Day."

Competing for the title of Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy are Amy Adams for "American Hustle," Julie Delpy for "Before Midnight," Greta Gerwig for "Frances Ha," Julia Louis-Dreyfus for "Enough Said" and Meryl Streep for "August: Osage County."

Nominated for Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy are Christian Bale for "American Hustle," Bruce Dern for "Nebraska," Leonardo DiCaprio for "The Wolf of Wall Street," Oscar Isaac for "Inside Llewyn Davis" and Joaquin Phoenix for "Her."

Up for Best Supporting Actress are Sally Hawkins for "Blue Jasmine," Jennifer Lawrence for "American Hustle," Lupita Nyong'o for "12 Years a Slave," Julia Roberts for "August: Osage County" and June Squibb for "Nebraska."

Nominated for Best Supporting Actor are Bradley Cooper for "American Hustle," Michael Fassbender for "12 Years a Slave," Jared Leto for "Dallas Buyers Club," Daniel Bruhl for "Rush" and Barkhad Abdi for "Captain Phillips."

Winners will be announced at a ceremony Jan. 12. Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are to serve as co-hosts.
