Octavia Spencer is crowned 2017 Hasty Pudding Woman of the Year

Jan. 26 (UPI) -- Hidden Figures Oscar and SAG Award nominee Octavia Spencer was crowned 2017 Hasty Pudding Woman of the Year Thursday in Cambridge, Mass.

As part of the festivities, the famed Harvard University drama troupe roasted Spencer, then took part in a press conference with the Academy Award-winning actress. Spencer's film credits include The Help, Fruitvale Station, Black or White and Zootopia.

Ryan Reynolds will be separately honored as Hasty Pudding Man of the Year.

The group honored Kerry Washington and Joseph Gordon Levitt as its 2016 Woman and Man of the Year.
