LOS ANGELES, May 28 (UPI) -- U.S. television actor Rainn Wilson said he has signed on for a small role in the movie "Transformers 2."

Wilson is best known for playing Dwight Schrute on the NBC sit-com "The Office." He will soon be seen on the big-screen in "The Rocker."

He told MTV News exclusively that he will also play a professor in the next "Transformers" outing.

"A professor that turns into a car that turns into a robot," he said with a laugh.

Little is known about the plot of the upcoming sequel, aside from the fact it will follow hero Sam Witwicky -- played by Shia LaBeouf -- to college.

Wilson offered no more details about the movie, insisting to MTV News that he hasn't read a full script for the film.
