Winfrey in NAACP Image Hall of Fame

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 19 (UPI) -- Oprah Winfrey will be inducted into the NAACP Image Awards Hall of Fame, producers of the NAACP Image Awards telecast said Wednesday.

Executive Producer Vicangelo Bulluck said the Emmy-winning TV talk show host will receive the honor during the March 19 taping of the 36th NAACP Image Awards in Los Angeles. The ceremony will televised March 25 on Fox.

"Oprah Winfrey is an extraordinary woman whose work has inspired and motivated people of all races and cultures," Image Awards Chair Clayola Brown said.

"Oprah Winfrey has set the standard for achievement," said Julian Bond, chairman of the organization's national board of directors. "Television icon, actress, producer, broadcast pioneer and successful entrepreneur -- she is the model for others."
