Denmark, Norway sign agreement with Saab for camouflage

By Richard Tomkins

April 4 (UPI) -- Saab has signed framework agreements with Denmark and Norway for the provision of static and mobile camouflage systems for their armed forces, the company announced this week.

Under the agreement, which comes under a joint procurement deal between Saab and the two countries, the countries will be able to order the systems over a four-year period.

"Both Denmark and Norway have decided to strengthen their armed forces and this is one part of that," Anders Wiman, head of Sab's Barracuda business unit, which is part of Saab's Dynamics, said in a press release. "They will now have the possibility to order systems that will keep them undetected in all conditions and in many different environments.

"We are ready to deliver high-tech camouflage solutions to them whenever they are needed, and this will definitely strengthen their capabilities on the battlefield," Wiman added.

The armed forces of Denmark and Norway have used the company's Barracuda advanced camouflage systems for many years, Saab said, and the systems are now in use by more than 60 countries around the world.
