Polaris Defense gets new GSA schedule

MINNEAPOLIS, Feb. 19 (UPI) -- U.S. company Polaris Defense was selected for a new schedule category that expands its ability to sell its low-speed vehicle in the government market.

In January Polaris launched its off-road, low-speed electric vehicle to address the military market demands. Thursday Polaris received a Schedule 23V contract from the U.S. General Services Administration that expands the company's reach in a government-wide, low-speed vehicle market.

The Polaris EV Low-Speed Vehicle is based on the company's Ranger platform and is equipped with a 30 horsepower electric motor. Officials say the new schedule category, a follow-on contract to the company's Schedule 78, makes the EV LSV the "only four wheel drive vehicle on GSA Schedule 23V," a news release said.

"The award of this GSA contract allows Polaris Defense to provide an innovative, leap-ahead four-wheel drive, electric vehicle to our government customers, while giving them a centralized purchasing point to buy our products," Mark McCormick, Polaris Defense managing director, said in a statement.
