Dec. 17 (UPI) -- Eminem has capitalized on his famously volatile personal history in the music video for "The Monster," in which Rihanna plays a psychologist helping the 41-year-old rapper revisit key moments from his past.
In the beginning of the video, Eminem sits on a couch and watches career-defining moments, like his "My Name Is" collaboration with mentor Dr. Dre and his highly publicized Grammys performance with Elton John.
The Detroit native also recreates scenes from his old music videos, like the 8 Mile sign from "Lose Yourself" and the straightjacket from "My Name Is."
Speaking to MTV News last month, Eminem said he wanted to work with Rihanna again because "people look at us like we're both a little nuts."
"The perception of the record, what it's saying, I thought it would be a good idea to have her on it because I think people look at us like we're both a little nuts. That's one of the things that I was telling her in making the record: I think that people look at us a little crazy," he said.
"I sent it to her, she laid the hook, sent it back. She smashed it like she does always. It's pretty incredible," he said.
