Belgian police, soldiers investigated for alleged orgy amid security lockdown

By Andrew V. Pestano

BRUSSELS, Dec. 30 (UPI) -- An internal investigation was launched in Belgium amid claims soldiers and police officers held an orgy while Brussels was in a lockdown during a massive manhunt following the November terror attacks in Paris.

Eight soldiers and two policewomen reportedly held a sex party at a police station in the Ganshoren neighborhood of Brussels. Up to 20 soldiers slept at the police station for two weeks during the November manhunt operation.

The soldiers remained at the police station so they did not have to travel far at the end of their shift.

"When they left, they organised a small party to thank the police in the area," police spokesman, Johan Berckmans, told Belgian newspaper La Derniere Heure. "We have launched an investigation to find out what exactly happened."

Brussels' businesses, schools and public transportation were shut down or partially closed for days amid the high alert level after at least 130 people were killed in the Paris massacre attributed to the Islamic State.
