Man kills two with knife, injures third in downtown Beijing

BEIJING, May 5 (UPI) -- A man attacked and killed two people and injured another with a knife in Beijing, and later died from injuries suffered while resisting arrest, police said.

The man, whose name was not reported, attacked people in cars on the ramp of a road near Guangqumen Bridge at approximately 2 p.m. local time Saturday, the Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau said in a statement.

All three victims were transported to a hospital where two died after failed medical treatment, China's official Xinhua News Agency reported. The third victim was still undergoing treatment, the statement said.
