"A number of the Afghan local police officers were patrolling when they were attacked by NATO aircraft, killing four police officers along with two civilians," Ahmad said.

Another official said the local police officers weren't in uniform and mistakenly attacked, Khaama Press said.

Ghazni is in east-central Afghanistan where militants actively operate.
