MADRID, March 27 (UPI) -- Four people suspected of robbing sleeping subway passengers and threatening them with machetes if they woke up have been arrested in Madrid, police said.
The four were apprehended after a passenger who was robbed alerted authorities, The Local.es reported.

Operating during the early morning hours, the thieves preyed on partygoers who fell asleep after a night on the town.
They would use a penknife to rip open trouser pockets, handbags and jackets of travelers, police said.
The names of those arrested and the charges against them weren't available.
