TORONTO, March 19 (UPI) -- A strip club operator can lose his liquor license for being a member of the Hells Angel motorcycle gang, an appellate court in Canada has ruled.
The Ontario Court of Appeals has ordered the province's Alcohol and Gaming Commission to reconsider the granting of a liquor license to Robert Barletta, the Toronto Star reported.
The action overturned an earlier ruling by a Divisional Court upholding a decision not to revoke the liquor license for Barletta's strip club, Famous Flesh Gordon's.
The commission's registrar recommended revocation saying Barletta's membership in the Hells Angels was sufficient reason to believe he could not operate the bar legally and with integrity.
Barletta, 43, was a founding member of the Hell Angels London chapter in 2003 and was its president until 2008.
The group is a criminal organization under Canadian law but being a member is not a crime, Justice Stephen Goudge wrote.
He ordered the commission to hear the matter again.
