Injured were the driver of the camper van, a 15-year-old boy and his 42-year-old mother, both of Turner Valley. The woman also is the mother of the two Turner Valley children who died.

The names of the victims, who were all in the van, had not been released.

Authorities said the crash occurred about 6:45 p.m. Thursday at an uncontrolled rail crossing on a road south off the Trans-Canada Highway, just east of Broadview, Saskatchewan.

The RCMP said the van was southbound on the rural road and the Canadian Pacific train was westbound.
