Radioactive Honda ordered out of Russia

VLADIVOSTOK, Russia, April 10 (UPI) -- A court in Russia has ordered the owner of a used Honda Fit to remove his radioactive car from the country, an official said Tuesday.

Radioactive cars and spare parts have occasionally been brought to Russia from Japan following the March 2011 accident at the Fukushima Nuclear Power Station.

The vehicle, transported to Russia from Japan in November 2011, was found to have levels of radioactive emissions that were higher than acceptable, RIA Novosti reported.

Transport officials at Vladivostok said the car's owner had to get it cleaned up or have it removed from the country.

When the owner failed to do so, prosecutors took the matter to court.
