At least seven rockets were fired Monday from Gaza, landing in open areas and causing no injuries, the newspapers said.

One of the Iron Dome anti-missile defense batteries deployed in the South successfully intercepted a Grad rocket fired at Beersheba, the army said.

A rocket fell near Ashkelon, several rockets exploded near Sderot and a number of rockets exploded in the Sha'ar Hanegev and Eshkol regional council areas, The Jerusalem Post said.

Since the beginning of the week some 35 rockets were fired at residential areas in southern Israel, the army said.
