MASON, Ohio, Aug. 9 (UPI) -- A man died of unspecified causes following a ride on a roller coaster at the Kings Island theme park in Mason, Ohio, a park official says.
Park Public Relations Director Don Helbig told The Cincinnati Enquirer that operators at the park noticed the man, whose identity was not reported, was experiencing breathing problems after riding the Firehawk roller coaster Saturday.
The man was taken to the hospital and later pronounced dead.
"We have no reason to believe the guest's ride on Firehawk caused his unfortunate passing," Helbig said of the roller coaster, which was shut down following Saturday's incident. "The ride was operating normally."
The Enquirer said state officials were informed of the death and the Firehawk ride was to be inspected.
