No bond for Florida coach in porn case

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., Nov. 25 (UPI) -- A former Florida high school swimming coach remained in custody Tuesday after agreeing to no bond while he awaits prosecution on child pornography charges.

Roberto Caragol was arrested Nov. 18 after police found a collection of alleged pornographic images of underage boys on his laptop computer.

Caragol had been an assistant coach at Pine Crest School, a prestigious school in Fort Lauderdale that is a perennial power in Florida prep swimming, the Miami Herald said Tuesday. He was fired after his arrest.

Investigators say Caragol, 35, admitted to sexual encounters with teenagers in the past. However, there were no allegations of such encounters made at Monday's detention hearing in Miami federal court.

Caragol was arrested after his Internet Service Provider tipped authorities that an e-mail address traced to Caragol had been used to transmit apparent child pornography.
