Brothers' bodies pulled from river

INDEPENDENCE, Ore., Nov. 18 (UPI) -- The bodies of two brothers who disappeared during a fishing trip on Oregon's Willamette River were found Tuesday afternoon, authorities said.

Divers found the bodies of Alvin Troub, 20, and his 8-year-old brother, Michael Runyon, near a boat ramp at an Independence park, KATU-TV in Portland reported. The river's level had dropped 3-4 feet overnight, making the search easier, authorities said.

The brothers had been reported missing during the weekend. They had been dropped off at the park to fish about 2 p.m. Sunday but were nowhere to be found when their family returned to pick them up two hours later, KATU-TV said. The brothers' fishing gear was found packed up on a concrete slab nearby.

Authorities said they do not believe the brothers were the victims of foul play but could only speculate on how they wound up in the water.
