School: No military uniforms at graduation

CHARDON, Ohio, May 29 (UPI) -- A pair of Ohio high school seniors say they are skipping graduation because school officials won't let them wear their military uniforms.

Will McDonnell, an active duty Marine who attended boot camp in February, and Tony Workman, an Army National Guardsman who went through basic training last summer, said they won't attend the Chardon High School graduation ceremony, WEWS-TV in Cleveland reported Thursday.

The students said they are boycotting the ceremony because school officials refused their request to be allowed to wear their military uniforms in lieu of caps and gowns.
