Couple says they saw kidnapped son on TV

LONDON, March 26 (UPI) -- An Indian couple is trying to prove that a boy they saw on television in London is their kidnapped son, who they have not seen in three years, authorities said.

The child, Gurrinder Singh, appeared on television after being left by himself at a bus stop in Southhall, West London, The Daily Mail (Britain) reported. The boy said his uncle had taken care of him since March 2005.

Ganga Prasad and Bindiya Devi of Bihar, India, reportedly told police they saw pictures of their missing son, Sintu, on the news after he was found last week.

Indian authorities said it is "quite possible" the boy is the couple's 9-year-old son because they have similar facial features.

Senior Indian police officer Ganesh Kumar, said the case would be given to federal officials in New Delhi "and then from there we will see what steps are required to get that boy back from London to our country."
