Two GIs killed in Iraq; al-Qaidas captured

BAGHDAD, Sept. 29 (UPI) -- Two U.S. soldiers were killed in separate incidents in Iraq Saturday, CNN reported.

One of the casualties died in Diyala province during operations carried out by Task Force Lightning while the other was killed In a firefight in southern Baghdad while part of the Multi-National Division.

CNN said the deaths brought the number of American military personnel killed in Iraq since March 2003 to 3,803.

Meantime, the U.S. military said coalition forces killed five suspected terrorists and captured 19 others during operations on Friday and Saturday. One of the prisoners was described as a communications liaison between senior al-Qaida leadership and its cells in Iraq.
