TOKYO, Aug. 19 (UPI) -- Japan’s oldest resident died Sunday of natural causes at age 113 in Ogori, Fukuoka Prefecture.
Sitsu Nakano, who was born Jan. 1, 1894, died at Seijuen nursing home for the elderly, the Yomiuri Shimbun reported.

Nakano had only enjoyed the distinction of being Japan’s oldest living citizen since Aug. 13, when Yone Minagawa of Fukuchimachi in the prefecture died at age 114.
Minagawa had been recognized as the oldest living person by Guinness World Records.
