Ice cream store owner facing sex charges

HUNTINGTON, N.Y., July 18 (UPI) -- The owner of an ice cream parlor in Huntington, N.Y., has been accused of sexually abusing three of his teenage female employees.

New York Newsday said Wednesday that 49-year-old Gian Nagpal was in police custody, facing charges he repeatedly fondled his female employees, ages 14, 16 and 17.

Police had initially arrested Nagpal July 10 on third-degree sexual abuse charges, after allegations he had abused the 17-year-old. While Nagpal was free on bail, police learned of the other two alleged victims and arrested Nagpal again Tuesday.

Nagpal has denied the allegations, saying he merely fired the teenage employees from his store in the Walt Whitman Mall.

"These are stupid charges," he told the Long Island newspaper.
