Video sparks charges of intolerance

COLLEGE STATION, Texas, Nov. 10 (UPI) -- Texas A&M University is facing charges of racial intolerance after three white students posted a mock master-slave video on the popular sharing site YouTube.

The two-minute production called the "Adventures of Jeraboem" depicts a slave and a supposed master who is beating the slave, The San Antonio Express-News reports.

The scene also involves simulated sexual abuse.

"It was just a blatant premeditated form of racism," says Richard Sanchez, 21, a senior from Laredo.

Vice President of Student Affairs Dean Bresciani says the students apparently filmed the video several years ago.

They made no effort to hide their identities or their connection to Texas A&M, which has less than 800 African-Americans among its 33,400 undergraduate student population.

Bresciani says his staff is investigating the matter and has spoken with the three students.

He says it is unclear whether any criminal laws or university policies have been violated and declines to speculate about any consequences the students may face.
