Judge rules for protesters in Bush visit

AUSTIN, Texas, July 20 (UPI) -- A judge in Austin, Texas, has ruled that the city violated rights of protesters during a 2001 visit by U.S. President George Bush.

District Judge Gisela Triana found the city guilty of discrimination against the protesters when police kept them away from the governor's mansion during Bush's visit.

The protesters get no monetary damages and the ruling requires no police changes, a lawyer for the coalition said.

If it happens again, another protest lawyer said, they'll be back in court.
