NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas, April 4 (UPI) -- A high school teacher in North Richland Hills, near Dallas, was suspended last week with pay after being accused of showing an R-rated movie to students.
The complaint against the Birdville High School teacher was made by a parent, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports. The parent had complained the criminal-justice teacher allegedly showed the war movie "Jarhead" to 18 students in class. The same parent also alleged the class was shown a movie about serial killer Ted Bundy, the report said.
"We are not sure if it was the entire movie or excerpts from it," a school spokesman told the newspaper.
School officials said the teacher will return to the classroom but did not say when.
