SAO PAULO, March 14 (UPI) -- A bomb scare delayed a Brazilian airliner scheduled to take off from the Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris, Estado de Sao Paulo reported Monday.

Varig airlines flight 8721 was temporarily grounded Sunday after airport officials received word there was a bomb on the plane.

The alert caused passenger to panic, Estado said, though they were reportedly evacuated from the plane without incident.

When no explosives were discovered, the plane was cleared for takeoff. It is scheduled to arrive in Sao Paulo later Monday.
