REDWOOD CITY, Calif., May 3 (UPI) -- Scott Peterson's defense lawyer filed a motion Monday seeking to move the high-profile California murder trial a second time.
The motion was not released to the public Monday, however the Modesto Bee said attorney Mark Geragos has expressed concern in the past about finding an impartial jury anywhere in Northern California.
The Los Angeles attorney has also said publicly he would like to move the case to Southern California. The case was transferred earlier from Modesto to Redwood City in the San Francisco Bay Area.
A hearing on the motion will be held May 11. Opening statements are currently expected to begin around May 20.
Peterson is accused of murdering his wife, Laci, and their unborn child in Modesto two years ago. Laci Peterson would have turned 29 on Tuesday.
