Friday police announced the arrest of two senior members of the group and said ETA's logistics chief, Felix Ignacio Esparza, was detained near the city of Dax.

The BBC said more than 800 people have been killed during ETA's 38-year fight to establish an independent Basque homeland in the north of Spain.
