SACRAMENTO, Aug. 17 (UPI) -- No one was killed Sunday when a church van crashed in Sacramento shortly before dawn but a dozen people had to be taken to the hospital.
Firefighters said the victims were part of an Ashland, Ore., church group that was returning from a trip to Mexico shortly before dawn. The victims included an adult driver and 11 teenagers between the ages of 13 and 17.

Three of the injured were in critical condition while the other victims suffered minor or moderate injuries.
The crash occurred on northbound Interstate 5 just inside the Sacramento city limits.
The California Highway Patrol was investigating the cause of the accident.
