Arab leaders to meet on Palestinian issue

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia, July 21 (UPI) -- The leaders of Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Palestine will meet to discuss the Palestinian situation.

Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Saud al-Faisal delivered a letter from King Fahd to Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak Monday.

Al-Faisal will spend a few hours in Cairo during which he will deliver a similar letter to Mubarak and hold talks with his Egyptian counterpart, Ahmed Maher, on latest developments in the Middle East and Saudi contacts with Arab and foreign parties.

Al-Faisal's trip to Cairo came on the heels of talks between Syrian President Bashar Assad and King Fahd and his Crown Prince Abdullah in Jeddah Sunday.

Palestinian Prime Minister Mahmoud Abbas was to travel to Cairo Monday for talks with Mubarak join the tripartite summit on developments in the Palestinian territory and the implementation of the road map for peace in the Middle East.
