Senate approves tax-cut bill, 51-50

WASHINGTON, May 23 (UPI) -- Vice President Dick Cheney cast the tie-breaking vote Friday morning in the U.S. Senate, to approve a $330 billion tax-cut measure. The bill, which won House approval about 2 a.m. Friday, heads to the desk of President Bush, who has already endorsed the measure.
