Peregrine System seeks bankruptcy status

SAN DIEGO, Sept. 23 (UPI) -- Peregrine Systems has filed for bankruptcy protection because of accounting irregularities that it say resulted in a $250 million over-estimation of its revenues during a 3-year period. The San Diego software company also said Monday it plans to sue its former auditor, Arthur Andersen, for nearly $1 billion.
